KOLBUS breaks ground for new 75000 square-foot assembly facility!

A small ceremony was held on June the 6th 2006 to mark the beginning of the construction work on ›East Hall‹, Kolbus’ vast factory extension.
Managing Partner, Kai Büntemeyer, welcomed guests representing the City of Rahden, the State of North-Rhine-Westphalia and the building contractors. He explained the significance of the project for the company’s future. ›East Hall‹ is an integral part of a strategic plan to boost Kolbus Group’s worldwide sales by 50%.
The new building will offer a new production area of approx. 7,500 square metres, increasing the built-over area to a total of nearly 45,000 square metres, with a usable floor space of 55,000 square metres on a site of 87,000 square metres. A total of more than 15 million Euros will be invested in the Rahden site by the summer of 2007, nine million of which will be spent on machine tools.
The contractor presented the visiting dignitaries with engraved spades commemorating the turning of the first sod.
