Kao Asia was founded in 1980. Although located in Hong Kong, China and
Taiwan counted among the key markets at that time. In 1991, Kao Asia opened sales offices especially for KOLBUS in Singapore and Malaysia.
Kao Asia's good reputation and the intensive contacts within the graphic arts industry allowed the company to grow. The one-man-company of 1980 has now grown into Kao Asia employing a staff of 38.
In 1998, KOLBUS acquired a major shareholding of the trading firm Kao Asia thereby putting a seal on a successful partnership lasting by now several decades.
The company is subdivided in three divisions: administration, sales, and service. The service division is formed by mechanical, electrical and electronic staff. The head of the customer service department is perfectly familiar with the KOLBUS machines. The same applies to many technicians who were and are trained in Rahden. Moreover, Kao Asia hold spare and wear parts in stock.
Their sales success is not only the result of regular visits to customers. Kao Asia exhibits on the major trade fairs of the industry in order to intensify customer contacts and to look for new customers.
